Local holiday letting agency Sally’s Cottages been nominated for the Best UK Cottage Holiday Company in the prestigious 2019 British Travel Awards (BTAs). The winners will be determined by the public, who has until 30 September to cast their vote, with the successful companies announced at the BTA Gala Awards Dinner, being held in London on 27 November 2019.
In a double-whammy week for the company, they have also been shortlisted in the North Best Rural Tourism Business category of the Rural Business Awards 2019/20.
Sally’s Cottages was set up 15 years ago by Sally Fielding, who sub-let a property from a neighbor in Eskdale. The agency now lets out over 500 cottages on behalf of individuals across the Lake District and Cumbria.
The nominations are another celebration for the company who so far this year have been shortlisted for two other awards (The Small Awards and the Northern Power Women Awards), opened a new office in Windermere village, and gained over 600,000 followers on their popular Facebook page.
“We won Gold at last year’s British Travel Awards,” explains Sally ‘’and had won Silver three years in a row before that, so the pressure’s really on! As the winners are chosen by the public, a win not only shows that we are continuing to provide excellent customer service, but proves that local businesses can flourish even alongside corporate-backed companies. I’m really excited to see the results! If you can vote for us, that would be amazing!”
The company already has an excellent track record with a host of customer service accolades to its name and with 99% of nearly 3,000 customers saying that they would use the agency again.
BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “The British Travel Awards gives the opportunity to reward travel and tourism enterprises for outstanding performance in service delivery and product offering. Last year more than 750,000 votes were cast by the travelling public to determine the 2018 Award winners; voting in the 2019 Awards is now open with nominated companies having until 30th September to lobby their happy customers for votes – good luck to Sally’s Cottages.”
The British Travel Awards are considered the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the travel industry. The British Travel Awards is a proudly independent organisation, verified by leading global business practitioners, Deloitte.
