Visitors are asked to share their memories for a new exhibition and programme of events being planned to mark the anniversary of the opening of Carlisle museum.
Tullie 125: Celebrating 125 Years, opening in February 2019, will reflect on the museum’s history and look ahead to an exciting future. Inspired by the stories of people who have visited, studied or worked in the museum, the exhibition will explore what makes Tullie House such a much-loved place in the heart of Carlisle.
For 125 years Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery has been a place of shared stories, told through the collections, exhibitions and events and stimulated by the people and their creativity.
Whether it’s the gruesome mystery of the Roman in the well, the myths of the ruthless Reivers or the tales told through the art inspired by our stunning landscape, Tullie House has enthralled generations of locals and visitors with the stories of the people who came before us.
Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery is also a place where stories are made, and in this special year, it is these stories which the museum is asking visitors and staff to share with them to help create an exciting new exhibition and contribute to the Tullie 125celebrations throughout the year.
